AN ACT relating to the promotion of agritourism.
Create new sections of KRS Chapter 247 to direct the Department of Agriculture, in conjunction with the Tourism Development Cabinet, to establish an Office of Agritourism; establish purposes and duties; require the development of a statewide plan to be presented to the Agritourism Advisory Council; create the Agritourism Advisory Council; establish members, duties, and terms; authorize the Commissioner of Agriculture and the secretary of the Tourism Development Cabinet to promulgate administrative regulations; require that implementation of the Act is subject to the availability of grant or existing funds.
HB 654 - AMENDMENTS
HCA (1, M. Denham) - Include in the Agritourism Advisory Council membership a representative from both the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Council of Area Development Districts.
HFA (1, M. Denham) - Add four members to the Agritourism Advisory Council; broaden the qualifications for the nine members representing the agribusiness industry; establish staggered terms for those nine representatives.
HFA (2, M. Denham) - Include in the Agritourism Advisory Council membership one representative from both the Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and the Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows.
