AN ACT relating to local emergency management directors.
Amend KRS 39B.020 to require the concurrence of the local legislative body for the appointment of local emergency management directors, require the concurrence of all local legislative bodies for the appointment of a joint local emergency management director, prohibit officers of political parties from the position of local emergency management director, and to grant preference to veterans of the Armed Forces and the Coast Guard with specialized skills for the position of local emergency management director.
HB 742 - AMENDMENTS
HCS/LM - Amend KRS 39B.020 to require the concurrence of the local legislative body for the appointment of local emergency management directors; prohibit officers of political parties from the position of local emergency management director; grant preference to veterans of the Armed Forces and the Coast Guard with specialized skills for the position of local emergency management director; also grant preferences to those with experience in fire, law enforcement, or emergency medical services in local, state, or federal agencies, or those with similar experience in private industry.
