SB 107/LM (BR 119) - L. Saunders
AN ACT relating to license plates.
Amend KRS 186.041, relating to special military-related license plates, to allow a special military plate to be combined with a personalized license plate; amend KRS 186.174, relating to personalized license plates, to conform.
SB 107 - AMENDMENTS
SCS - Retain provisions of the original bill, except: remove language relating to initial issue of the license plates and option to donate to veterans' program trust fund; establish fee for personalized license plate combined with military license plate at $30.00; direct that thirty dollar fee shall be divided with $25.00 going to the Transportation Cabinet and $5.00 going to the Department of Veterans' Affairs for the veterans' program trust fund; direct county clerks to forward on a quarterly basis money collected from these license plates to the Department of Veterans' Affairs; allow a person renewing a combination personalized/special military license plate to donate $5.00 to support the veterans' program trust fund; direct county clerks to forward donations quarterly to the Department of Veterans' Affairs for deposit in the veterans' program trust fund.
HCS - Retain the provisions of the GA version of SB 107 with the following change: provide that the extra money designated for the Department of Veterans Affairs from the purchase of a military license plate, or a personalized license plate that has been combined with a military license plate, shall be forwarded by the county clerk to the Transportation Cabinet, which shall be responsible for sending the money quarterly to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
