AN ACT relating to cosmetologists.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 317A to permit persons holding an active license as a cosmetologists or nail technician and who practice in licensed salons to render services to patients in nursing homes, persons under the care of a hospice program, homeless individuals residing in temporary living accommodations, the deceased at funeral homes, persons in assisted living communities, and persons in their homes who are unable to move and have a doctor's excuse so indicating; condition ability to render services on obtaining the permission of the facility's administrator; prohibit providing any treatment involving the feet at nursing homes and hospice programs.
SB 195 - AMENDMENTS
SCS - Retain original provisions except exempt only funeral establishments from the requirement that board-licensed cosmetologists and nail technicians only practice in establishments licensed by the board; delete the exemption for long-term care facilities, assisted-living communities, and homeless persons in temporary living accommodations; delete the authority of the board to promulgate administrative regulations.
