SB 219 (BR 1989) - T. Buford

     AN ACT relating to the Kentucky Birth Surveillance Registry.
     Amend KRS 211.660 to require outpatient and laboratory records to be submitted by general acute-care hospitals and medical laboratories to the Kentucky Birth Surveillance Registry; amend KRS 211.665 and 211.670 to conform.

SB 219 - AMENDMENTS


     SCS - Retain original provisions except: permit the Department for Public Health to require a general acute-care hospital to voluntarily keep a list of outpatients; require access to records be granted to Kentucky Birth Surveillance Registry personnel only if required or voluntarily participating in keeping a list of inpatients and outpatients.

     HFA (1, R. Damron) - Retain original provisions and amend KRS 199.520 to permit adopting parents and adult adopted children to obtain nonidentifying background information concerning biological parents and blood relatives of the adopted person.

     HFA (2/Title, R. Damron) - Make title amendment.
