SB 236 (BR 1137) - R. Stivers

     AN ACT relating to real estate appraisers.
     Amend KRS 324A.030 to make it unlawful for any person to engage in real estate appraisal activity in this state unless certified or licensed by the Kentucky Real Estate Appraisers Board; and exempt real estate brokers and salespersons who prepare opinions regarding the price of a piece of real estate, provided the opinion is not designated as an appraisal and no fee is charged for the opinion over and above the real estate commission or brokerage fee; exempt officers, directors, and salaried employees of financial institutions and their affiliates who prepare opinions for internal use only.

SB 236 - AMENDMENTS


     SCS - Retain original provisions and exempt state employees who prepare an appraisal for the Commonwealth from the licensure requirement.

     SFA (1, R. Stivers) - Exempt appraiser appointed by a court as part of a condemnation proceeding from licensing requirements established herein.
