SB 254 (BR 2702) - T. Buford
AN ACT relating to qualifications of substitute teachers.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 161 to require that a certificate for substitute teaching be granted by the Education Professional Standards Board to any applicant for substitute teaching who possesses a bachelor's degree in any area and who satisfies the criminal records checks required under KRS 160.380.

SCS - Retain original provisions; make technical corrections.
HFA (1, R. Palumbo) - Add section to amend KRS 156.070 to provide that the Kentucky Board of Education, or the agency designated by the state board to manage interscholastic athletics, or a local board of education, or a school-based decision making council shall not promulgate rules, administrative regulations, or bylaws which prohibit pupils in grades 7 to 8 from participating in any high school sports except for high school varsity soccer and football, or from participating on more than 1 school-sponsored team at the same time in the same sport.
HFA (2/Title, R. Palumbo) - Make title amendment.
HFA (3/P, R. Damron) - Attach the provisions of HCR 185 to SB 254.
HFA (4/P, R. Damron) - Attach the provisions of HB 235 to SB 254/GA.
HFA (5/Title, R. Damron) - Make title amendment.
