SB 258 (BR 2638) - R. Stivers
AN ACT relating to penalties for modifying motor vehicle restraint systems.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 189 to prohibit a person from installing or reinstalling any object in lieu of an airbag installed by a manufacturer and meeting federal safety requirements; amend KRS 189.990 to establish a penalty of a $5,000 fine, a year in jail, or both for violating the provisions relating to air bags.

SFA (1, R. Stivers) - Delete provisions of bill and replace with new sections creating the crime of fraudulent repair of an air bag and fraudulent sale of a motor vehicle without an air bag.
SFA (2, R. Stivers) - Delete provisions of the bill; create a new section to establish the crime of fraudulent repair of an air bag; create a new section to establish the crime of fraudulent sale of a motor vehicle without an air bag.
