SB 4 (BR 1082) - J. Westwood, R. Roeding
AN ACT relating to assistance dogs.
Amend KRS 258.500 to define "person" as a person with a disability as defined by KRS 210.770, to change the term "guide dog" to "assistance dog", and to make technical corrections; amend KRS 189.575, 258.991, and 525.010 to conform.
SB 4 - AMENDMENTS
HFA (1, B. Heleringer) - Retain original provisions except specify that penalties shall not apply to requirements that owners or trainers of assistance dogs have certification papers in their possession; prohibit charging any person with violating the provisions of KRS 258.500 when the owner or trainer does not have certification papers in his or her possession.
HFA (2, B. Heleringer) - Retain original provisions except specify the violations pertain to subsections (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), and (12), and specify that no person shall be charged with a violation of those subsections if the trainer or owner does not have certification papers in their possession.
