SB 69 (BR 1520) - A. Robinson
AN ACT relating to redistricting and declaring an emergency.
Provide that if the General Assembly does not pass and the Governor does not sign redistricting legislation prior to the current January 29, 2002, filing deadline for office, the filing deadline, the primary election date, and KRS 117.045, 117.085, 117.145, 117.315, 117.389, 118.215, and 118.225 shall be suspended for the 2002 primary election and for no other election; provide that the filing deadline for office shall be April 15, 2002, the primary date shall be June 18, 2002, and the Secretary of State shall establish other necessary election deadlines for the 2002 primary election; EMERGENCY.
SB 69 - AMENDMENTS
SCS - Retain provisions of bill, except specify that provisions of bill would apply if congressional and state legislative redistricting legislation is not passed by January 29, 2002; provide that the filing deadline for only congressional and legislative offices shall be April 16, 2002; provide that the registration deadline for congressional and state legislative candidates in KRS 118.125 and 116.055 shall be delayed for ninety days.
