HB 147/FN (BR 233) - K. Stein, R. Damron, S. Westrom

     AN ACT relating to the long-term care ombudsman program.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 216.537 to 216.590 to require a full-time long-term care ombudsman in each area development district; and require additional ombudsman positions to be funded, when funds are available, for the purpose of achieving the goal of one ombudsman for every 2,000 licensed long-term care facility beds.

HB 147 - AMENDMENTS


     SFA (1, J. Denton) - Provide that no funding for any long-term care ombudsman position shall be derived from the Medicaid program's nursing facility budget or from any civil monetary penalty collected from a health care provider or facility.

     SFA (2, J. Denton) - Provide that, effective July 1, 2004, no funding for any long-term care ombudsman position shall be derived from the Medicaid program's nursing facility budget or from any civil monetary penalty collected from a health care provider or facility.
