Create a new section of KRS Chapter 336 to prohibit an employer from discriminating against an employee who takes time off in a domestic violence situation.
HB 171 - AMENDMENTS
HCS/LM - Create new sections of KRS Chapter 336 to prohibit an employer from discriminating against an employee who takes time off to obtain any relief including judicial relief for domestic violence, stalking, or sexual assault; prohibit an employer with 25 or more employees from discriminating against an employee from taking time off as a result of domestic violence, stalking, or sexual assault; make penalty for employer a Class B misdemeanor; provide that time off shall not be in excess of or in addition to the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) of 1993.
HFA (1, J. Jenkins) - Amend to limit documentation to only the name of the victim and the date medical or mental services were received.
