HB 303 (BR 1267) - G. Stumbo, M. Denham, T. Pullin, T. Riner, M. Weaver

     AN ACT relating to Veterans Day.
     Amend KRS 158.070 to require that all public schools be closed on Veterans Day; permit districts to designate it as one of the four holidays within the minimum school term or to not include the day in the minimum school term; describe procedures to be used when the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday.

HB 303 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Delete the provisions of the bill; create a new section of KRS Chapter 158 to require that each public high school in Kentucky set aside one class period for the observance of Veterans Day; establish Veterans Day program requirements.

     SCS - Retain the original provisions; create a task force to study prescription drug abuse and illegal drug diversion and to submit proposed legislation to the IJC on Judiciary by October 1, 2003.

     SCA (1/Title, R. Sanders Jr) - Make title amendment.

     SFA (1, T. Buford) - Attach provisions of House Bill 550 to House Bill 303.

     SFA (2/Title, T. Buford) - Make title amendment.
