AN ACT relating to taxation.
     Amend KRS 138.470 to exempt vehicles 44,001 pounds and greater from usage tax; amend KRS 139.480 to exempt vehicles 44,001 pounds and greater from sales tax on repair or replacement parts; amend KRS 186.040 to increase the fee a county clerk receives to register vehicles 44,001 pounds and greater from $3 per registration to $20 per registration; amend KRS 186.050 to raise registration fees for vehicles beginning with the 44,001 to 55,000 weight classification and greater; amend KRS 235.085 to conform; make provisions for sales and usage tax exemptions effective October 1, 2003; make provisions for increased registration fees effective July 1, 2003.
