HB 498 (BR 1758) - J. Bruce, T. Edmonds

     AN ACT relating to the Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program.
     Amend KRS 205.6458 to permit the Cabinet for Health Services to charge $10 monthly KCHIP premiums to families with incomes of 101% to 150% of the federal poverty level and $25 to families with incomes of 151% to 200% of the federal poverty level; permit the cabinet to consider the number of children in a family as well as family income when applying the sliding scale; permit discounts for those families that pay premiums quarterly or semi-annually; require the cabinet to establish a 60 day waiting period to reenroll in KCHIP following cancellation of coverage due to nonpayment of premiums; and repeal KRS 205.6497.
