AN ACT relating to individuals with disabilities.
Amend KRS 205.6317 to define self-determined funding as an individually-controlled budget and to require the Cabinet for Health Services to conduct a pilot project to provide individualized, self-determined funding for at least 200 persons in the Supports for Community Living Program, require the project to include individual rates, accountability, and awareness about the project, and make technical correction.
HB 501 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Amend KRS 205.6317 to include funding for a self-determination model as recommended by the Commission on Services and Supports for Individuals with Mental Retardation and Other Developmental Disabilities as part of the definition of "Supports for Community Living Waiver Program"; add a new section to amend KRS 210.577 to require the commission to develop recommendations for the implementation of a self-determination model of funding services and supports for persons currently participating in the waiver program; require the model to include individual rates and budgets, assistance in designing a package of services and supports, and accountability for public funds; permit the commission to establish an ad-hoc committee to work on the model.
