SB 156 (BR 1350) - L. Casebier
AN ACT relating to school records concerning missing children.
Amend KRS 17.470 to require the Kentucky Missing Child Information Center to provide the state registrar and the commissioner of education with information on missing and recovered children; amend KRS 156.495 to require the Department of Education to distribute weekly to public and private schools the names of all missing and recovered children and require a school to notify the Kentucky State Police of contact with a missing child; and amend KRS 158.032 to require that the Kentucky State Police be notified of a request for school records of a missing child and noncompliance of proof of a child's identity by a person enrolling the student in school.
SB 156 - AMENDMENTS
SFA (1, L. Casebier) - Clarify that reports of missing children or requests for records of missing children shall be made to local law enforcement or Kentucky State Police, and that the Kentucky State Police shall provide lists of missing or recovered children to the State Registrar of Vital Statistics and the Commissioner of Education.
