SB 191 (BR 1678) - J. Denton

     AN ACT relating to group health insurance.
     Create new sections of Subtitles 17A, 18, and 38 of KRS Chapter 304 to require insurers issuing group health benefit plans, group health insurance policies, and health maintenance organizations to disclose to policyholders that have 51 or more insured lives specified information required to received health insurance bids; require the information to be provided within 30 days following a written request; provide that this Act shall not require insurers to disclose any information in violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act or the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act; exempt associations and employer-organized associations from the provisions of this Act.

SB 191 - AMENDMENTS


     SFA (1, J. Denton) - Exempt the information provided from KRS 304.2-210; allow information to be delivered in format best suited to the insurer's system for delivering information; permit a request once a year no more than 60 days prior to renewal.
