AN ACT relating to automobile identification plates for members of the clergy.
Create a new section of KRS Chapter 186 to establish a clergy identification to plate for use on a motor vehicle; define the terms "member of the clergy" and "clergy identification plate"; require that vehicles bearing this plate on the front of the vehicle still be registered under KRS 186.050 and bear a license plate as required by KRS 186.005; establish minimum design standards for the plate and mandate that they be produced at Transportation Cabinet expense; require county clerks to issue plates keep a record of applications filed and plates issued; set forth application procedures and set fee for plate at $5, $4 of which is retained by the clerk and $1 of which is forwarded to the cabinet to help defray production expenses; establish restrictions on parking in spaces reserved for clergy and the use of the clergy plate by non clergy members; set fine for violations at a $25-$100 fine.
SB 62 - AMENDMENTS
SFA (1, T. Buford) - Delete subsections (2) through (5), (7) and (8) to eliminate state administration of a clergy identification plate program; retain parking restrictions and fines for parking spaces reserved for clergy.
