AN ACT relating to members of the United States Armed Forces.
Create a new section of KRS 335B.020 to 335B.070 to permit the extension of a professional license for a member of the United States Armed Forces while that individual is deployed overseas.
HB 189 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Retain provisions of the bill except delete requirement that an individual has to provide a copy of orders deploying the individual overseas in order to qualify for extension of a professional license.
HFA (1, R. Damron) - Retain original provisions; change chapter from 335B to 36; add certificates and permits as well as licenses; provide that possession of a license, permit, or certification together with overseas deployment orders is evidence of license extension and a defense against having an expired license; permit a service member to voluntarily notify the licensing, permitting, or certifying agency of overseas deployment and require the agency to automatically extend the license, permit, certification as provided in the act; prohibit an agency from taking any adverse action against a service member who has not provided overseas deployment information.
