HB 23 (BR 54) - S. Nunn, Dw. Butler, M. Denham, S. Westrom

     AN ACT relating to adopted and foster children, and declaring an emergency.
     Amend KRS 164.2847 to suspend the time frame for participation in the postsecondary tuition waiver program for foster or adopted children during the time the individual is serving in the Armed Forces or the Kentucky National Guard; require a demonstration of ineligibility for tuition assistance from military sources prior to resuming participation in the tuition waiver program.

HB 23 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Retain original provisions of the bill except amend to require that if the sum of the tuition waiver plus other financial assistance exceeds the total cost of tuition, the tuition waiver shall be reduced by the amount of exceeding the total cost of tuition, rather than the total cost of attendance.
