     AN ACT relating to highway work zones.
     Amend KRS 189.2325, relating to highway work zones, to require use of a flashing yellow light to indicate when workers are physically present in a work zone and set forth signage requirements; amend KRS 189.394, relating to speeding, to specify that double fines in work zones are only applicable when flashing yellow lights are in operation and workers are physically present in the work zone.

HB 237 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Retain the original provisions of the bill; add language to clarify that the requirements for marking and signange of work zones applies only to those work zones where the fine is doubled under KRS 189.394.

     SFA (1, R. Palmer II) - Remove the requirement that flashing yellow lights be illuminated when workers are physically present; require a work zone to have highway workers present in order for increased penalties to be imposed; remove changes to KRS 189.394.
