HB 26 (BR 42) - A. Arnold, C. Embry Jr, J. Richards, T. Thompson

     AN ACT relating to the regulation of elections and declaring an emergency.
     Amend KRS 117.235 to prohibit electioneering within 100 feet rather than within 500 feet for a polling place; define electioneering to include soliciting signatures to a petition for a bona fide candidate or to advocate the passage or defeat of a ballot question; EMERGENCY.

HB 26 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Retain original provisions except change electioneering prohibition near a polling place from 100 feet to 300 feet.

     SFA (1, W. Blevins Jr) - Amend HB 26 to prohibit electioneering during the period of time voters are allowed to vote in person by absentee ballot.

     SFA (2, W. Blevins Jr) - Amend HB 26 to allow yard signs to be permitted on privately owned residential or other property within 300 yards of a polling location.

     SFA (3, D. Thayer) - Amend KRS 118.255 to remove the requirement for fees to be deposited in the election campaign fund for public financing of gubernatorial elections; create a new section of KRS Chapter 121 to establish procedures regarding a vacancy in a slate of candidates; amend KRS 121.015, 121.056, 121.120, 121.150, 121.170, 121.180, 121.220, 121.990, 154A.160, 154A.990, and 6.611 to conform; and repeal KRS 121A.005, 121A.010, 121A.015, 121A.020, 121A.030, 121A.040, 121A.050, 121A.060, 121A.070, 121A.080, 121A.090, 121A.100, 121A.110, and 121A.990.
