AN ACT relating to occupational license fees and taxes.
Amend KRS 68.180 to exempt ministers from the license and occupational tax in counties with a population of 300,000 or more; amend KRS 68.190 to make a technical correction; amend KRS 68.197 to exempt ministers from the license and occupational tax in counties having a population of 30,000 or more; amend KRS 91.200 to exempt ministers from the license and occupational tax in cities of the first class; amend KRS 92.300 to exempt ministers from the license and occupational tax in cities of the second to the sixth class; amend KRS 160.483 to exempt ministers from the license and occupational tax for schools; EFFECTIVE July 1, 2005.
HB 28 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Amend KRS 68.180, 68.197, 91.200, and 160.483 to create new language to establish that ministers shall not be required to be licensed but are subject to payment of occupational fees levied by cities, counties and school boards; make conforming changes to clarify references to license taxes and occupational fees.
SCS - Amend KRS 68.180, 68.197, 91.200, 92.300, and 160.483 to prohibit local governments from regulating ministers; clarify that ministers shall be subject to the same fees and taxes assessed against any other taxpayer.
