AN ACT relating to The Kentucky Recreational Trail System.
Createnew sections of KRS Chapter 148 to create the Kentucky Mutiple-use Recreational Trail Commission, attached to the Commerce Cabinet, and establish responsibilities to develop and implement a multi-county demonstration trail system project, funded by counties interested in promoting trail development and managed for statewide and multi-state promotion and access. require semiannual report on access to multiple-use recreational trails on privately owned land in Kentucky to include recommendations for improvements; require commission to sunset in two years and require commission to recommend a transition plan for a long-term permanent state entity to plan, promote, fund, and manage multi-county recreational trails which are developed for multiple uses, including pedestrians, horses, motorized and nonmotorized vehicles, and are on privately owned land.
HB 302 - AMENDMENTS
HCS - Retain provisions of original bill, except include language which references existing state statutory requirements for ATVs which are ridden by children; include clarification regarding the administrative costs for staffing the Multiple-use Recreational Trail Commission; include a member of the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation as a member of the commission; delete restrictive language regarding types of contracts which the commission may use to establish trails.
