AN ACT relating to special license plates.
Amend KRS 186.041, relating to special military-related license plates, to increase the renewal fee by $5 on selected categories of plates to be designated for the Veterans' Program Trust Fund established under KRS 40.460; amend KRS 186.171, relating to congressional license plates, KRS 186.178, relating to legislative license plates and KRS 186.179, relating to judicial license plates, to increase the renewal fee by $5 to be designated for the Veterans' Program Trust Fund established under KRS 40.460.
HB 40 - AMENDMENTS
HFA (1, J. Stewart III) - Retain the provisions of the original bill in their entirety and add a new Section to authorize any person to make a voluntary contribution to the veterans' program trust fund when initially applying for or renewing any type of license plate; require the Transportation Cabinet to provide each county clerk's office with a poster to promote contributions to the veterans' program trust fund; establish specifications for the poster; require the design of the poster to be developed collectively by the cabinet and the Kentucky Department of Veterans' Affairs.
HFA (2, M. Weaver) - Require recipients of a National Guard special license plate to pay an additional $5 fee upon renewal, which shall go to the Department for Veterans' Affairs.
