HB 43/LM (BR 121) - J. Jenkins, P. Clark, J. Crenshaw, R. Crimm

     AN ACT relating to breast cancer and making an appropriation.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 186, relating to the registration and licensing of motor vehicles, to create a special Breast Cancer Awareness license plate for the Kentucky Breast Cancer Alliance; require the alliance to obtain a minimum of 900 applications along with a $35 state fee for each application before the Transportation Cabinet is required to print the plate; provide that if the 900 applications are not submitted to the cabinet within a year of the effective date of the Act, the provisions creating the special plate expire; establish an initial fee for the plate of $38 and a renewal fee of $25, with $10 of the initial and renewal cost that will be sent to the breast cancer research and education trust fund; declare that the General Assembly appropriates the additional plate funds to be used for the purposes of the breast cancer research and education trust fund; create new sections of KRS Chapter 211 to establish the breast cancer research and education trust fund and appropriate the funds for the uses set forth in the Act; establish the trust fund board and to establish the duties of the board.
