HB 434 (BR 1729) - A. Simpson

     AN ACT relating to charter county governments.
     Amend KRS 67.830, relating to charter county governments and the consolidation of services, to redistribute the composition of the study commission and provide that the mayors of cities make appointments to represent the cities in each classification; require that the chair and vice chair be elected from the membership of the commission and that one be from the county and one be from a city within the county; provide that the comprehensive plan must be completed with two years, and that if agreement on the plan cannot be reached the plan will not be submitted to the voters; provide that if a proposal is designed to affect only one particular area, the voters within that area are only able to vote on the proposal; provide that if a proposal fails, that proposal shall not be submitted again for 5 years.
