HB 48 (BR 233) - R. Damron, T. Thompson

     AN ACT relating to the identification of certified volunteer firefighters.
     Create new section of KRS 95A to establish a certified volunteer firefighter identification program; state the purpose of the program; establish requirements for application; establish fees; specify issuing agency; grant the Fire Commission the authority to promulgate administrative regulations for the creation of the program.

HB 48 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Amend House Bill 48 to increase fees for identification card to $5; grant $3 to county clerks; make chief of department responsible for collecting cards from inactive members and those separated from service.

     HFA (1, R. Damron) - Delete original provisions relating to fees, increase fee to $9 and provide for its distribution; delete original provisions relating to return of identification cards and provide that the card be taken by the chief of the fire department if the member is no longer certified, is suspended from the department, leaves the department, or is no longer an active member of the department; insert provision permitting the Transportation Cabinet to use the nondriver identification card, with suitable modifications, as the certified volunteer firefighter identification card; insert provision requiring Commission on Fire Protection Personnel Standards and Education, Transportation Cabinet, and Administrative Office of the Courts to cooperate in the program.
