     AN ACT relating to electricians.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 227A to allow eligible experience gained at age 16 or 17 to apply toward the verifiable experience requirement of KRS 227A.060 or KRS 227A.080; limit the maximum amount of this eligible experience to two years; require that this verifiable experience be performed under the supervision of a qualified electrician and that it comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act and related regulations; authorize the Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction to promulgate regulations related to electrician experience gained at age 16 or 17; create a new section of KRS Chapter 227A to allow verifiable experience gained at age 16 or 17 to apply to applicants who could have used the experience to qualify for licensure under KRS 227A.080; direct that this verifiable experience may apply to a person who was denied licensure, had his or her license revoked, or failed to apply because part of the verifiable experience was obtained for work performed at age 16 or 17; prohibit inclusion of any experience acquired after July 15, 2004, in this specific situation; eliminate this route to licensure after July 15, 2006; amend KRS 227A.060 to allow eligible verifiable experience gained at age 16 or 17 to be used in conjunction with other verifiable experience to meet the electrician licensing requirements.
