     AN ACT relating to the funding and operation of local jails.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 441 to establish per diem rates for payment to counties by the state for the care of state prisoners; to increase bed allotment payments for counties without a jail, and for those with only life safety jails; to provide payment for medical expenses; to provide payment for time served credit served in county jails; and to provide for the state takeover of county jails in fiscal year 2010-2011; establish an LRC task force on statewide jail consolidation.

     HCS - Retain Section 2 of the bill establishing the task force on statewide jail consolidation; delete the remainder of the provisions.

     HCA (1/Title, H. Moberly Jr) - Make title amendment.

     HFA (1, D. Graham) - Amend the method of appointment from members being appointed by the LRC to members being appointed by the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate.
