AN ACT relating to school-based decision making councils.
Amend KRS 160.345 to add a classified employee representative as a member of a school-based decision making council; allow school employees to vote in the council election at the school where they spend the majority of the school day or where assigned for administrative purposes; allow school employees to be eligible to serve on the school council at the school where they spend the majority of the school day or where assigned for administrative purposes; in schools having eight percent or more minority students, allow classified employees to select a minority employee to serve as a classified employee member of the school council.
SB 119 - AMENDMENTS
HFA (1, H. Moberly Jr) - Increase the membership on a school-based decision making council from two parent members to three parent members.
HFA (2, T. Feeley) - Increase the membership on a school-based decision making council from two parent members to three parent members.
HFA (3, H. Moberly Jr) - Retain original provisions and specify the shared responsibilities and procedures to be used between the superintendent and the school-based decision making council in selecting a school principal; make other changes to conform.
HFA (4, M. Cherry) - Require a classified school employee to be a full-time employee in the school in order to be eligible to vote in the school council election or serve as a member of the school council.
HFA (5, F. Rasche) - Add a member who is representative of the business community in schools with grades seven and above.
HFA (6, J. Barrows) - Amend the membership of school councils to reduce the number of teachers from 3 to 2 and add 1 classified member.
HFA (7/P, K. Upchurch) - Amend KRS 160.380 to allow a principal's spouse who was employed in the principal's school during the 1989-90 school year or a principal's relative who has completed 10 years of consecutive employment in the school to be employed; attach provisions of HB 231.
HFA (8/Title, K. Upchurch) - Make title amendment.
