HB 121 (BR 923) - S. Westrom

     AN ACT relating to disclosure of information about sprinkler systems in long-term care facilities.
     Create a new section of KRS 216.537 to 216.590 to require a long-term care facility to inform a person prior to admission about details of the facility's sprinkler system; require a facility that does not have a sprinkler system to inform a person prior to admission about the absence and to obtain a written acknowledgment that the person is aware about the absence of a sprinkler system; and prohibit the acknowledgment from containing a waiver of any liability arising from the absence of a sprinkler system.

HB 121 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Retain original provisions except provide a definition of "long-term care facility"; specify that long-term care facilities that do not have a sprinkler system in each resident room shall explain details about the facility's sprinkler system to the resident and whether any rooms in the facility are not equipped with a sprinkler.
