HB 153/LM/AA (BR 1007) - B. Yonts, J. Bowen, J. Comer Jr, T. Thompson

     AN ACT relating to retirement.
     Amend KRS 61.637, relating to reemployment after retirement, to suspend the retirement of an elected official who resigns from office and is reemployed in an elected position contributing to the same retirement system within twelve months; apply provisions to elected officials who retire after effective date of the Act; amend KRS 64.5275 to provide that county judges/executives, county clerks, jailers, and sheriffs who are reemployed in their same position within twelve months of retirement shall be paid in accordance with Step 1 of the salary schedule.

HB 153 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS/LM/AA - Retain original provisions of bill, except add "prior to the end of his elected term in office" to Section 1(11)(c) and delete provision related to elected official who completes one elected position and is elected to another elected position in Section 1(11)(c).

     HFA (1, G. Lindsay) - Amend to remove applicability of provisions to persons retiring from a judgeship or justiceship of the Court of Justice.
