AN ACT relating to notification of the public as to the presence of sex offenders within the community.
Create new sections of KRS Chapter 17 to require a sex offender who is required to register to also register with the sheriff in the county of residence, and pay a $20 fee; require the sheriff to supply the information to the school board, which must publish in the newspaper once a year, prior to the beginning of the school year, a list of sex offenders in the county; provide for additional publications when a new sex offender moves into the county or an existing sex offender moves within the county or moves out of the county.
