HB 190 (BR 50) - S. Lee

     AN ACT relating to medical records.
     Amend KRS 422.317 to permit a hospital or other health care provider to charge for actual postage if the medical records are mailed to the patient's attorney or authorized representative; prohibit other fees from being charged; and prohibit postage from being charged if the medical records are retrieved by the patient, attorney, or representative at the hospital or health care provider's office.

     HFA (1, S. Lee) - Retain original provisions and add that a hospital may charge $.25 per page or $25, whichever is less, to certify a second copy of medical records; specify that no other charges for a certified copy shall be permitted.
