HB 302 (BR 1208) - A. Simpson

     AN ACT relating to towing.
     Amend KRS 376.275, regarding towed vehicles, to require a return receipt on certified mail notifications to the owners and lessors of towed motor vehicles; require notification of all individuals known to have an interest in the vehicle prior to the sale of the vehicle to satisfy the lien on the vehicle; require sales of vehicles under the section to be advertised in accordance with KRS Chapter 424.

HB 302 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS - Retain original provisions of the bill except require that notification of sale be sent only to those individuals who have a properly recorded security interest in the vehicle.

     HFA (1, J. Lee) - Clarify that if no response is received to the certified notice within 14 days, the party with an interest in the vehicle is considered notified under the provisions of the Act.
