HB 343/LM (BR 1247) - G. Lynn, Dw. Butler, T. Edmonds, C. Embry Jr

     AN ACT relating to peace officer certification.
     Amend KRS 15.400, relating to certification of grandfathered peace officers, to permit an officer to retain certification if employed within thirty days by another law enforcement agency that is subject to certification; amend KRS 15.386 and 15.392 to conform; make this provision retroactive to July 1, 2004.

     HFA (1, T. Thompson) - Amend to allow Commonwealth detectives and county detectives to participate in the peace officer certification program.

     SCS - Amend Section 5 of the bill to include United States National Park Service park rangers and U.S. Mint Police at Fort Knox among those federal peace officers to have the same powers and duties as other peace officers in the Commonwealth.
