HB 530/LM (BR 1836) - D. Pasley, H. Moberly Jr, T. Shelton

     AN ACT relating to jail canteen accounts.
     Amend KRS 441.135 to clarify the use of jail canteen account funds, include but not limit usage to recreational, vocational, and medical purposes, and require a reserve to be maintained in the jail canteen account in an amount not less than $100 per inmate.

HB 530 - AMENDMENTS


     HCS/LM - Require the fiscal court to annually transfer to the jail canteen account beginning July 1, 2007, an amount of funds equal to $30 times the annual average daily inmate population of that county in order to maintain adequate operating funds in the jail canteen account.

     HFA (1, D. Pasley) - Replace the $30 per prisoner annual allotment with a flat amount based on the average daily inmate population at a minimum of $1000 and a maximum of $6000.
