     AN ACT relating to sheriffs.
     Amend KRS 64.090 to increase sheriffs' fees to $40 for any agency or person requesting service not on behalf of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

HB 537 - AMENDMENTS


     SCS (1/LM) - Amend KRS 64.090 to increase sheriffs' fee to $30 for any agency or person requesting service not on behalf of the Commonwealth of Kentucky; amend KRS 186.245 to require every county clerk to post in their office a permanent notice of fee increases in this Act by January 1, 2007; amend KRS 64.012 to update the fee schedule for county clerks and to establish, omit, or increase various fees for county clerks; amend various statutes relating to the recording fees of county clerks to refer to KRS 64.012 for these fee amounts.

     SCS (2/LM) - Retain the original provisions of SCS 1 except in Section 1 by increasing the Sheriffs fee to forty dollars; increase the clerk's fee on recording and indexing documents in Section 3 to twelve dollars and dividing that fee by specifying that six dollars goes to the clerk and six dollars goes into the affordable housing trust fund; provide a delayed effective date on the fee's to August 1, 2006 and on the vehicle registration fees until January 1, 2007.
