HB 550 (BR 1956) - R. Palumbo, J. Carr

     AN ACT relating to the provision of broadband service.
     Amend KRS 224A.011 to include broadband deployment projects; define "broadband deployment project"; amend KRS 224A.112 to create the Broadband Deployment Account and require that it shall be managed by the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority; create a new section of KRS Chapter 224A to set forth the purposes of the broadband deployment account; require the authority to establish an incentive program to assist in the provision of broadband deployment projects; allow the authority to promulgate administrative regulations to carry out the purposes of this Act.

     HCS - Allow area development districts and other interested parties to have input with KIA on broadband deployment projects; apply only to unserved areas of state; make technical corrections.
