     AN ACT relating to the employment of deputy sheriffs.
     Amend KRS 70.030 to provide for employment protection for deputy sheriffs in counties containing a city of the first or second class that do not have a merit board; provide that deputy sheriffs may be fired or disciplined only for violations of law; allow chief deputies to be demoted one step upon election or appointment of new sheriff.
