HB 672/FN (BR 1851) - H. Collins

     AN ACT relating to motor vehicle usage tax.
     Amend KRS 139.470 to exempt sales of motor vehicles to nonresidents if the nonresident registers the motor vehicle in a state that allows Kentucky residents to purchase motor vehicles without payment of sales tax at the time of sale or allows Kentucky residents to remove the vehicle from that state within a specific period for subsequent registration and use in Kentucky without payment of that state's sales tax; create a new section of KRS Chapter 139 to require all tax receipts, interest, and penalties resulting from the sale of a motor vehicle subject to sales tax to be deposited in the road fund, except those sales that are exempt or where the motor vehicle is purchased for nonhighway use; EFFECTIVE August 1, 2006.
