HB 698 (BR 2258) - M. Weaver

     AN ACT relating to motor vehicle registration.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 186 to clarify vehicles that are required to be registered in Kentucky; amend KRS 132.570, to provide that 25% of the penalty imposed under the section go to the law enforcement agency that issues the citation to the violator.

HB 698 - AMENDMENTS


     HFA (1, M. Weaver) - Establish that the failure to properly register a vehicle shall subject the owner to all evaded property tax and applicable interest; provide for assessment of a penalty by the Department of Revenue equal to the amount of tax evaded; establish that any law enforcement agency issuing a citation which results in the payment of owed taxes receive 25% of penalty assessed or not less than $50.
