AN ACT relating to pension systems of urban-county governments.
Amend KRS 67A.345 to require urban-county governments to provide benefits to surviving spouse, disabled children, and dependent children upon death of a retired member; amend KRS 67A.430 to increase minimum monthly annuity and make technical changes; amend KRS 67A.440 to allow for an annuity equal to 60 percent of the member's last rate of salary or annuity, whichever is greater regardless of retirement date; apply to current recipients; make technical changes; Amend 67A.490 to increase the death benefit from $300 to $1,500; amend KRS 67A.492 to allow for an annuity equal to 60 percent of the member's final annuity or the member's final rate of pay regardless of retirement date; apply to current recipients; make technical changes; amend KRS 67A.560 to allow board to hire independent counsel for any purpose; make technical changes; amend KRS 67A.690 to require an annual retirement annuity increase of not less than 3 percent but not more than 10 percent; make technical changes.
