AN ACT relating to elections.
     Amend KRS 118.105 to change the date for certificates of nomination for certain replacement candidates from the second Thursday preceding the date of the regular election to the fourth Thursday preceding the date of the regular election; to establish that if a vacancy in a candidacy occurs later than the fourth Thursday preceding the date of the regular election, no certificates are to be filed but a candidate may seek election by write-in vote; amend KRS 118.176 to require that an action regarding the bona fides of any candidate be commenced no later than the third Tuesday in August prior to the general election; to require the Circuit Judge and the Court of Appeals to give preference to actions brought under this section over other civil actions or proceedings pending in court; to require the Court of Appeals or a court of Appeals Judge to render an order no later than the fourth Thursday before the general election in order to allow a political party to file a certificate of nomination for a replacement candidate.
