AN ACT relating to cancer research.
Create new sections of KRS Chapter 211 to include declarations and findings relating to cancer research; create the Kentucky Cancer Tissue Registry Initiative (KCTRI) with goals to reduce cancer deaths, reduce health care costs, and improve access to treatment through an electronic network; establish a board and specify membership with some appointments by the Governor; specify board terms; require board to establish time frames and business plans for registry gatekeeper functions; require report to Interim Joint Committees on Appropriations and Revenue and Health and Welfare by August 1, 2007; establish the KCTRI fund and specify uses.
