     AN ACT relating to commercial driver's licenses.
     Amend KRS 281A.070 to require the holder of a commercial driver's license to report any student loan default to the Transportation Cabinet within 30 days of the default; include loan defaults of any financial assistance program in KRS Chapters 164 and 164A, as determined by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority pursuant to KRS 164.772; amend KRS 281A.130 to direct that a person shall not be issued a commercial driver's license if the person is in default of any repayment obligation on a student loan; include loan defaults of any financial assistance program in KRS Chapters 164 and 164A, as determined by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority pursuant to KRS 164.772; amend KRS 281A.190 to authorize the Transportation Cabinet to deny, suspend, revoke, or cancel a commercial driver's license for any person who is in default for any type of student loan; allow license denial or disqualification if the person is in default of any financial assistance program in KRS Chapters 164 and 164A, as determined by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority pursuant to 164.772; and require the Transportation Cabinet to promulgate administrative regulations to establish the procedure and criteria for issuance or reinstatement of a commercial driver's license if the denial or disqualification of the license was due to the person's loan default status.
