HB 145 (BR 813) - D. Pasley, J. Greer, J. Tilley
AN ACT relating to school attendance.
Amend KRS 159.150 to establish that the attendance record of a student is cumulative during a school year; require that when a student transfers to a new school, his or her attendance records from the previous school shall be used in the determination of the student's status as a truant; amend KRS 159.170 to require a school district to notify and provide student information to the Kentucky Department of Education when a student withdraws from or enrolls in a school in its district; and require the Kentucky Department of Education to forward information including attendance records to a school district receiving a transfer student.
HB 145 - AMENDMENTS
SCS - Retain original provisions, except require the Kentucky Department of Education to assure that the student information system facilitates the collection of student data and the transfer of records among school districts and schools; amend KRS 45A.352 to exempt a local school district from seeking approval from the commissioner of education to enter a guaranteed energy savings contract that does not involve construction or the installation of physical improvements and to exempt the contract from other provisions of this section.

SCA (2, K. Winters) - Amend 2006 Kentucky Acts Chapter 252, Part I, Operating Budget, D. Department of Education to add language concerning the Coal County Computing Program.
