     AN ACT relating to memorials.
     Create a new section of KRS Chapter 174 to establish a highway memorial sign program to allow applicants to sponsor a highway memorial sign in honor of an individual fatally injured on a state-maintained highway; require sponsors to pay a fee to defray the costs of producing and erecting a memorial sign; set forth the appearance of memorial signs for different types of accidents; give the Transportation Cabinet full authority over the placement of signs; require memorial signs to stay up for a minimum of five (5) years, unless the cabinet determines them to be a safety hazard; allow sponsors to request memorial signs up to three (3) years after an accident; require the cabinet to promulgate administrative regulations pursuant to KRS Chapter 13, governing the issuance of highway memorial signs.
